It happened when past Monday, 14-year-old Ahmed, a fresher at MacArthur High School, Irving was arrested from his school after bringing a homemade clock into class to show his teacher. Later, he was taken into custody and interrogated by the police for building what the police call a “hoax bomb.” However, Ahmed was released later without being any charges pressed against him by the police. But, this was not the end of the story. The incident went viral across the Internet with many of them supporting Ahmed’s inventive curiosity and even some thinting how “inventive” the clock was in reality. While one hand, Ahmed was acclaimed as a hero, on the other, he was invited by President Obama to visit the White House. Also, tech giants like Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Box CEO Aaron Levie invited him to pay a visit at their offices in Silicon Valley. To add to this, Microsoft is now showing some love for Ahmed. Here’s a tweet from executive director of the Dallas Council on American-Islamic Relations, Alia Salem, who throughout the past week has joined Mohamed during TV interviews. https://twitter.com/aliarsalem/status/645248743768391680 He was gifted a Microsoft Band, a 3D printer, a Surface Pro 3, an Office 365 subscription, and much more. Not a bad start, we must say!!!
