Carrying the model number KBB-700, the wireless keyboard folds up along the four rows of the keys, which largely increases its portability so that it can be easily carried around. The Rolly keyboard features high-contrast keys and a fold-out mobile device stand. Due to the foldability of the keyboard, it might be small and difficult to type with one may wonder. However, according to LG, typing on the new Rolly Keyboard is “extremely simple” because of its 17-mm key pitch, which is almost the same as the 18-mm key pitch found on regular desktop keyboards. The LG Rolly Keyboard is said to sport a durable polycarbonate and ABS plastic body, which combines the solidity of folding keyboards with the compactness of silicone ones that roll up. It is highly impact-resistant and has two foldable arms for holding smartphones and tablets. By simply unfolding it, the users can pair the keyboard with the device using Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity. The Rolly Keyboard can simultaneously be connected with 2 different devices and users can toggle between the two with a single key press. In case of tablets, LG stated that the keyboard will only pair with those that have up to 10-inch displays. A single AAA battery can power it for about three months on an average. According to Seo Young-jae, Vice President in charge of Innovative Personal Devices at LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company “LG Rolly Keyboard is just one of the many premium input devices we’ll be unveiling in the coming months as we expand our accessories offerings. The goal was to create a product that could add more value to LG smartphones and tablets at the same time offering a unique design proposition that hadn’t been explored before.”
The Rolly Keyboard will be available in the American markets from September this year, followed by European, Latin America and Asia markets in the fourth quarter of this year. The prices and details of their availability would be announced locally at the time of launch.
