Hiroshi Lockheimer has been moved up from Vice President of Android to Senior Vice President of Android, Chrome OS and Chromecast. While Mohan is now Senior Vice President of Display and Video Advertising, Phillip Schindler is also taking on a new title as well by moving up to the role as Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Operations. Hiroshi Lockheimer has been at Google since 2006. He’s known as a congenial, skilled engineer and, more importantly, a trusted confidant for Pichai, who ran Android and Chrome before his appointment to lead all Google products in October 2014. Lockheimer is a important player in dealing with falling profits for its handset partners and expanding onto new platforms (automotive, wearables, IoT, etc.). Dave Burke, another Android VP, who showed off the company’s latest Nexus phones last week, has taken on more engineering leadership duties. With major changes by Sundar Pichai at the top of the order, it will be quite exciting to see what changes this new leadership will bring. Only time will tell!!!
