Dubbed as Dropbox Passwords and first spotted by Android Police, this is an invite-only (Early Access) Android app, which can be now downloaded from the Google Play Store. Similarly, an iOS version of the app too is available on the Apple App Store. Although the current version of the app can be downloaded from the Stores, you won’t be able to use it unless you have not received the invite. According to the description of Dropbox Passwords on the Google Play Store, it says that the app is currently in private beta and only available to a limited number of Dropbox customers. Also, since the app is in development, it may be unstable. Dropbox has not provided many details about how the app works. Dropbox Passwords (beta) provides password security by storing all your passwords in one secure place, then fills in usernames and passwords so you can instantly sign in to websites and apps. You can easily create and store unique, secure passwords as you sign up for new accounts. Features: – Sign in to apps and websites with one click – Store passwords as you sign in to sites and apps – Access your passwords from anywhere with automatic syncing to all your devices Never get locked out of your accounts again. Using this new password keeper from Dropbox, you can sign in to your favorite banking, streaming, and e-commerce sites and apps—you can even shop and checkout securely. Further, Dropbox Passwords references it has ‘zero-knowledge encryption,’ a feature that means passwords of users are not only protected from hacks but are also accessible by users only. In other words, it shares a lot of the same features and protocols like popular password managers such as Dashlane, LastPass, 1Password, BitWarden and more. It appears Dropbox intends to bring the password manager app to iOS, as well as macOS, Windows 10, and Linux, as the stored passwords will be synchronized across all the devices. Dropbox has yet to make an official announcement about its password manager app. With many popular password managers existing in the market, it will interesting to see whether Dropbox which is still the household name can make a mark or not with its app.
