A hacker purporting to represent the group LulzSec has claimed responsibility for a DDoS attack that affected UK telecom TalkTalk this week. If you remember, LulzSec was a hacking team from 2011 which hacked targets for ‘Lulz’ Here is a brief bio on them : Lulz Security, commonly abbreviated as LulzSec claimed responsibility for several high profile attacks, including the compromise of user accounts from Sony Pictures in 2011. The group had also hacked CIA website during that time and taken it offline....

A Maryland man has pleaded guilty in a federal court in Chicago for operating a hacker-for-hire service that shut down company websites and targeted victims for as little as $20 for online harassment. Zachary Buchta, a 20-year-old admitted in his plea agreement with prosecutors confessed to launching cyberattacks and harassment campaigns as a founding member of the hacker-for-hire groups Lizard Squad and PoodleCorp, according to the Chicago Tribune. Butcha pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit damage to protected computers — a charge that can carry a sentence of up to 10 years in prison....

According to a Malaysian news website The Star, some 30 computers belonging different authorities and individuals, involved in the multi-nation probe were infected by a malware. According to Microsoft, it has identified compatibility issues with some versions of Avast Antivirus and AVG Antivirus that contains an application that is version 19.5.4444.567 or earlier. Microsoft’s trying to make the translator feature available to larger set of users. Since the removal of sign-up process last month, Skype Translator preview has seen a 300 percent increase in the usage, according to the company. Skype Translator was announced in December last year. Currently the service supports English, Spanish, Mandarin and Italian languages for real time speech translation, but Microsoft will roll out support to more languages in coming months....
