Taking a tough stand on blocking pirated websites on copyright grounds, the High Court of Delhi has ordered ISPs (Internet Service Providers) in India to block several torrenting websites, reports TorrentFreak. The decision comes following a series of eight complaints filed by Twentieth Century Fox and local Disney-owned media giant UTV Software Communications. The list of blocked websites includes the Pirate Bay, RARBG, Torrentz2, 1337x, ExtraTorrent, YTS, FMovies, and BMovies, as well as several alternative domain names and/or proxies hired by some of the sites....

Not a substitute Kaspersky has said that the free version of its security software is not meant to act as a full fledged anti-virus solution since it only offers the bare essential features like email and web antivirus protection and automatic updates and lacks VPN, Parental Controls and Online Payment Protection. Windows 10 Edge browser will now automatically pause certain kinds of Flash content while you are browsing the web. This auto-pausing isn’t live just yet, but Windows Insiders will be able to preview it once they update to Windows 10 build 14316, and will be included for all Windows 10 users as part of the upcoming Anniversary update. Making more headway in that direction is Microsoft Corp. who has been investing in multiple projects relating to AI. The tech giant has created a new AI tool which it calls a “drawing bot” using a Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) running on two machine learning models. The bot uses the GAN to generate images based merely on a descriptive caption. One machine learning model generates images from text descriptions, while the other model known as a discriminator uses descriptions of text to judge the authenticity of generated images, so that it cannot be tricked....

For those unaware, the Fresh Start feature in Windows 10 lets, you perform a clean reinstallation and update of Windows while keeping your personal data and most Windows settings intact. The tool “may improve your device’s startup and shutdown experience, memory usage, storage app performance, browsing experience, and battery life,” says Microsoft. Fresh start removes third-party antivirus software and all apps that don’t come standard with Windows. This includes Microsoft apps such as Office, any desktop apps that came preinstalled on your device, and any Windows desktop apps, such as your device manufacturer’s apps, support apps, and drivers....

The issue surfaced in May on Reddit, when a user notice Microsoft inserting telemetry_main_invoke_trigger and telemetry_main_return_trigger into binaries as they are compiled. They have been found in both debug and release versions of the software in Windows 7 and Windows 10. There is now a busy thread on Reddit debating the company’s thinking behind including this ‘feature’. What was bothersome for the Reddit users that the existence of the functions was not referenced in any documentation, not online, and neither in the software’s built-in documentation package....

As of now, Microsoft has not issued any fix/patch for this vulnerabilities but there is a workaround available if you want to safeguard your computer. You have to set the Internet and Local intranet security zone settings in the Internet Explorer settings to “High”. This will then disable both XMLDOM ActiveX Controls and Active Scripting in your Internet Explorer and the scripts cant be executed.
